Buildstance vs Autodesk Forma Build

Autodesk Construction Cloud became part of the Autodesk Forma brand in March 2026. Compare the construction workflow you need, including Forma Build and the relevant legacy product names.

Understand the current product names

Autodesk’s March 2026 announcement places the former Construction Cloud capabilities within Forma. Autodesk Build is now Forma Build, and Autodesk Docs is Forma Data Management. The transition should not be confused with a comparison solely against early-stage planning software. Consult Autodesk’s current product pages when evaluating features or subscriptions.

Where Buildstance fits

Buildstance’s public focus is construction project records, site observations, drawing revision context, snags, reviews and client reporting. Evaluate it when the team needs a connected record and a reviewed client view. Confirm the actual workflow, capacities and processing requirements, and inspect the synthetic demo before validating a real project.

Where Forma deserves close evaluation

Forma Build publishes project, cost, quality and safety capabilities alongside connections to Autodesk’s design and data-management products. Forma Build Essentials also addresses everyday jobsite tools such as sheets, issues, photos and daily reports. Teams with model coordination, authoring integration or an established Autodesk environment should assess those requirements directly.

Choose with a representative workflow

Demonstrate receipt of a drawing revision, capture of a site issue, internal review and sharing with an owner. Compare the design data required, permissions, available integrations and export. Buildstance does not claim parity with Autodesk’s BIM or model-authoring ecosystem. Pricing and entitlement depend on the product and scope selected; verify them with each provider.
